Did you know that the college admissions process begins on a freshmen's first day of high school? It is common for parents to confuse the college admissions process with the college application process that begins in the senior year of high school.
College admissions is a four-year process in which students compete for seats at selective colleges. During this time, each student must build a scholarship resume that distinguishes them from their competitors. In addition, they must meet the standards of the colleges or universities they are considering attending prior to starting the college application process. That is, if they want money.
Introducing:
The Ultimate College experience
As college admissions become increasingly competitive, "Character" is now being weighed alongside academic criteria and talent. A growing number of selective colleges are adopting “Holistic College Admissions”. This broader approach incorporates non-academic factors, particularly character attributes, into the admissions process. Character attributes considered in Holistic College Admissions include resilience, caring, perseverance, gratitude, grit, curiosity, integrity, and service. With these changes, we can envision – for the first time – character as a criterion in the college admissions process.
Discovering Me is about going through the stages of self-discovery. It is the first stage of the college admissions process. It's a great start for students who want to find their passion, identify a career path, or learn more about their superpowers. Our goal is to help students gain a deeper understanding of who they are and show them how they can use their unique talents and abilities to build a strong student profile and a future for themselves.
Get the Ultimate College Experience and we'll walk your student through the college admissions process and show them how to take charge of their future while on the road to becoming scholarship worthy. Students learn how to advocate for themselves, build themselves, brand themselves, pace themselves, lead, set goals, create a personal plan, and just be passionate about who they are. You know, become the kind of person that selective colleges want to add to their student body.
College Admissions has five building stages:
Stage 1: Discovering Me
Stage 2: Becoming Me
Stage 3: Building Me
Stage 4: Branding Me
Stage 5: Introducing Me
Each stage helps students uncover more about themselves and their superpowers while they build their student profiles.
Stage 1: Discovering Me
a journey of self-discovery
No One Is Me
And That Is My Superpower
Discovering Me is the first stage of the Ultimate College Experience. This is an opportunity for students to take inventory of their ---------. Students start by completing a set of assessments that will help them identify their strengths and weaknesses in 5 different areas.:
-
Personality
-
Learning
-
Productivity
-
Intelligence, and
-
Skills
Assessments are reinforced by enrichment workshops to help students get a deeper understanding of their assessments. Since self-knowledge is the key to personal empowerment and confidence, this approach can dramatically affect student's chances of achieving satisfying academic and career success. You must know yourself before you can clearly communicate your accomplishments and needs; this process allows the individual to understand how to do that.
Furthermore, parents will be able to better understand the personality, learning style, motivations, intellectual level, abilities, and type of work best suited to their children. Allowing parents to provide more effective support to their teen.
Stage 3: Building Me
Building The Student Profile
A scholarship resume is usually required when submitting scholarship applications.
Building Me is a deep dive into the college admissions process. This is where the rubber meets the road. Students began to tackle the building blocks of the college admissions process better known as the Scholarship Resume & Student Profile..
